At my age, almost 80, I have learned to appreciate the gift of a skilled professional who is also a kind and caring human being. Dr. Barbara Libbin has been one such gift and I can not praise her enough for her timely, caring and skillful handling of all my auditory needs. The proficiency of her staff reflects the same degree of care and respect for the elderly needs.

It’s been 4 years since you recommended that I see the people at Feldman Hearing Studios. I first worked with Jane O’Connell and now since her departure for the Dakotas, with Stacy Morrison.

I want you to know that they are the most competent, kindly and knowledgeable group. You should be very proud to have them represent the Feldman Hearing Studios. I’m never rushed, they are always available and a joy with whom to work. As you said, hearing aids do not solve problems the way contact lenses do, but these folks at Feldman will keep at it until the products are vastly improved.

My mother-in-law has used the services of The Feldman Hearing Studios for sometime. Every time I come into the business with or without her the staff is always very proactive, efficient, and customer friendly. They are excellent problem solvers as well. I have only the highest praise for Feldman Hearing Clinics. I have had hearing aids (off and on) for almost 10 years but generally off since my previous devices, secured through my health-care HMO were often awkward and getting appointments to repair, adjust etc was inconvenient and, because the HMO was w/in the outpatient clinic of a major hospital in the area, just time-consuming. My hearing loss is genetic and has remained at a constantly low level throughout the years but the aggravation to my spouse and my inability to actually HEAR certain sounds and words (rather than guessing them) became too difficult not to address. I selected Feldman Hearing Clinics because of promotional literature that was delivered to my door. That was one HAPPY coincidence and an appointment was easy to obtain. The offices are conveniently located in downtown Washington, D.C.

I was venturing into the digital age of hearing aids, the Audiologist carefully explained all the options in assessing my needs, desires, usages and ..vanity! I have the AudioSyncPro in-ear product (both ears). The guarantees are comprehensive but more important – the service from the Feldman Hearing Clinic is superior. From time to time I have needed adjustments w/ one piece or the other, particularly as we set the digital use levels and I have adjusted to the devices – no matter how minor, they graciously , efficiently, and expertly handles the situations as they arise.

Most recently, I needed to have a speaker replaced in one of the devices AND I was leaving for Italy within the week. It was arranged not only to have the device sent into the manufacturer and returned in time to meet my deadline but without extra charges to me. In fact, I am amazed every time I walk in and out of the clinic w/out paying for the Audiologists time – it is included in the Feldman service. I did buy additional technical coverage for the devices themselves but that, too, was reasonable.

If you have not experienced hearing loss – and its (augmented) retrieval you may not fully appreciate the enormous value of devices that are sophisticated and reliable and, as much if not more importantly, to have a partner in your audiologist to get you into the new process and is patient and expert in keeping your ‘new’ hearing functioning optimally. Feldman Hearing Clinic has met and exceeded all my expectations on those important issues.

I’d had problems hearing for a while, affecting participation in meetings at work, social get-togethers, radio and TV voices. At first I asked people to repeat, talk a bit louder, tell them I couldn’t hear what they said. Then that got tiresome, so I’d pretend to hear by reacting with everyone else in the room. It was especially troubling not hearing the soft voice of one of my work colleagues. I blamed the hearing loss on eustachian tube problems that had started in the early 2000s. But recently I felt the hearing loss was worsening, so recently I had my hearing tested at the Feldman ENT Group. The tests found that my hearing had diminished beyond the eustachian tube problem. I was torn about using hearing aids because of a combination of vanity and complaints I’ve heard from hearing aid users for one reason or another. But weighing the possible upsides and the downsides, I decided to explore my options. And, am I glad that I did.

Through the Feldman Group I met with a clinical audiologist. I knew right away, from our first meeting, that she understood my concerns. She recommended the ‘open fit’ style that would be invisible, and, at the same time be the most effective for me. She ordered a pair specifically for my needs, and a week later I walked out of her office wearing them. It was raining when I left with my new hearing aids in place and I actually heard the drops landing on my umbrella. It was an amazing experience. I must say that there’s a learning curve and, although I was shown how to put them in and the Audiologist had me do it myself before I left her office that first time, it takes some practice. I went back for appointments four more times with questions and concerns. Each time, she either fixed what she could in the office or ordered from the hearing aid company what was needed for the adjustments. This is my first week with no appointment,She’s made it so easy. Not only is she highly skilled in her work, she listens, she’s patient and a very pleasant person. I would highly recommend the Feldman ENT Group to anyone with hearing problems. Thanks to them, I’m right in the fray of all the talk.

P.S. I can now hear, without a problem, my soft-spoken colleague.
